The Expected Female Torture Under the Talibanisation of Pakistan

I just came across this, and I am totally gutted. Recently President Zardari made a deal with Swat to allow Sharia Law in the region, a deal backed up by the USA. Well it has come back to bite us in the ass.

A 17 year old girl was mercilessly and publicly flogged by two members of the Taliban forces and the girl's brother. The girl was held down on the ground by two of the men, while one continuously whipped the girl 37 times as she cried, defended herself, begged for mercy, or to be shot dead instead of such humiliation.

The reason of all this being: she came out of her house with a strange man who was not her husband, and a neighbour was suspicious about this, and so forwarded a complaint. Without any questioning, or giving the girl an opportunity to defend herself, she was ruthlessly made of victim of public humiliation and physical torture.

As soon as Islamic law or Sharia comes to our head, why is it so that the first image popping up is that of woman with no rights, a woman who will become public property for being scrutinized for every step she takes and every bit of air she breathes, and a woman who is constantly made a target of mental and physical abuse? Do men like to beat women? Is their some sort of high attached with it? Do they feel absolute adrenaline? Why don't they get a treadmill instead? Or go jump off an airplane? Why do they feel this need to make themselves feel powerful and in control by putting down women? Why don't they go play with someone their own size?!

I am glad at least that the released video of this horrendous act (by the Taliban of course, to communicate God knows what) has erupted sharp criticism throughout the country by human rights' activists, the government, and the public in general. But it is truly sad of how had the video not been released, it would have gone probably unknown, like several other incidents, which the Taliban didn't bestow us with the pleasure of.

If this is the Sharia Law that the extremist Muslims in Britain are fighting for, I have just one think to say to them: why find home in a country where you find your basic principles out of tune with?

If this is Sharia. It is SHIT. If Sharia is law only to subjugate women. It is SHIT. If Sharia is about bringing imbalance to the two genders that Allah has given equality to in His scriptures. Then IT IS SHIT.

I sympathize with the women who wake up in the lands of the Sharia, the Taliban, and the Al-Qaeda.

Is Swat not Pakistan? If yes, then if the President has given up on one piece of land to have the Sharia enacted upon, then how long before it curbs the whole country? How can anyone even think about making a deal with such people? How can USA even consider backing up such a situation, and then expecting the whole world to like them? It is really absolute BS to see some youtube videos where Americans are completely oblivious as to why the world hates them!

May all these fake mullahs, havoc spreaders, infested-bearded-creeps go to hell. Ameen.
